CHARACTERISTICS
Production method: distillation in copper boilers with the discontinuous method. Aging in oak barrels for 18 months. Alcoholic proof: 43%
Sweet and intense aroma of honey and almonds, citrus peel on the stove, waxed wood.
In perfect coherence a warm sensation of sweetness develops, of ripe and dried fruit, dates, crunchy.
A perfect end of a meal, with baked pastries, oars, but also with highly seasoned cheeses.
NOTES OF THE OENOLOGIST
Distillation with the discontinuous method takes place in copper boilers, while aging is done in the same oak barrels used for the refinement of Riserva Ducale Oro.
HISTORY
Grappa Aged Riserva Ducale Oro combines Berta's distillation skills with Ruffino's winemaking tradition. It is 1947 and while in the countryside of Asti, in Casalotto, the Berta family founded the distillery of the same name, the historic Tuscan winery Ruffino in Pontassieve gives life to Riserva Ducale Oro, the spearhead of the production of Chianti Classico which already counts the pioneering Riserva.
